Key Stage 3 > Year 8-10
All pupils follow the same curriculum.


In Year 9 pupils choose to follow French, Irish or Spanish.

All Key Stage 3 pupils participate in an all inclusive curriculum offering a range of opportunities for personal development and achievement.

Our learning support centre offers special help to those pupils who have a statement of special educational needs.



Years 11-12 (Key Stage 4)
The Key Stage 4 curriculum is designed to ensure that our students, through a careful choice of subjects, keep open the widest range possible of career opportunities. Choices are made from a structure that enables them to choose subjects for which they have an aptitude and which are necessary for their future career.

All pupils study:

> English
> Mathematics
> Science
> Personal & Social Education
> Physical Education
> Religious Education
> Language
> Careers


Plus three from the following: Geography, History, Business Studies, Home Economics, Child Development, Art, Drama, Physical Education, English Literature, Music, Double Award Science, Technology and Business and Communication Systems, vocational education and Learning for Life and Work. Some pupils in Year 11 and 12 are able to pursue vocational courses leading to GCSE equivalent qualifications in partnership with Upper Bann Institute.


Year 13/14
St Patrick’s College offers a range of courses for students who have completed Key Stage 4.

Year 13 students may choose to follow an AS Level or vocational course, from the following options:

Option 1:
Up to 4 GCE AS Levels from the following subjects:

> Art
> Biology
> English
> History
> Geography
> Government & Politics
> Mathematics
> Religious Education
> Applied Business
> Applied ICT
> Physical Education

Students may also choose to do GCSE additional Maths

This provision is under constant review and is subject to changes in government policy.

Repeat classes in GCSE English and/or Mathematics are also available for those who fulfil the criteria for entry to 6th form.

Senior Pupils at St. Patrick’s have special provision for study and recreation as well as a wide and varied range of out of school activities. These are intended to enhance and develop their social and community awareness as well as their full academic potential.
