Sixth Form

St Patrick's College 6th Form is the fastest growing area within the school. The students come mostly from within our own school but we do have an open door policy and have welcomed pupils from many of the other local schools.

St Patrick's College offer a wide and varied range of subjects.

These are constantly under review to ensure that we are catering for the needs of all our students.

During the academic year 2006/2007, St. Patrick's College has on offer, the following A Level subjects:

  • Art
  • Biology
  • Applied Business
  • English
  • Geography
  • History
  • Applied ICT
  • Mathematics
  • Politics
  • Religion
  • Physical Education

The Child Development course is only available in St. Patricks College.

The curriculum of St. Patrick's College is driven by the needs of our pupils and we appreciate the value of enrichment courses. To this end, St. Patrick's College have introduced the following courses:

  • G.O.M.L Italian
  • Driving lessons *
  • Work experience lasting one week for year 13 students
  • Annual Christmas party that students plan, organise and run
  • A Senior Council to represent the student body
  • Fund raising for a variety of charities
  • A mentoring role for the year 7 transition group

*part of the SELB road safety programme


  • Study Skills programme
  • First Aid
  • Communicate with the deaf project
We have an annual information evening for Students and parents to link university visits and the careers service.

In August we hold an open afternoon for prospective students and their parents so that we can provide individual support and advice regarding course selection and career opportunities and requirements. This is just one aspect of the strong pastoral support we provide linking subject teachers, form teachers, careers staff, Year Tutor and Co-ordinator of 6th form courses.

St. Patrick's College 6th Form is a dynamic, highly motivated and happy group of students who work together with their teachers to achieve success in their chosen courses.
